This surprised Saki. Slowly, she turned her head to face the enigmatic being. It didn't look anything like she expected. She had imagined a crazed, hungry reptilian beast, but what stood before her was something...cute and bearlike. Once Saki was certain that it meant no harm, she turned herself around to face it ( ... )

This thought was confirmed as Saki felt a powerful blow to her side. She knew she should be in pain, but her whole body was numb. Even as another blow hit her, she felt no pain whatsoever. Finally, the dizziness overtook her, and she collapsed. Everything slowly faded away....She couldn't see, but she could hear a high-pitched voice shouting her name...she felt something soft against her, and the sensation of being carried...

As she slowly regained consciousness, Saki felt pain throughout her body. At this point, however, pain meant little to her. Her ears picked up the sound of someone crying. She could barely move at all, but she managed to turn her head toward the source of the sound. It was Teddie, huddled in a corner. Saki let out a strained cry, catching his attention ( ... )
