((There's some spoilers for the Sun/Drama S-link mentioned, including the Maxing event.))

The sad thing was he could have prevented all this.

He could have gone to basketball practice instead. ...But he hadn't felt like it, and Kou hadn't said anything about practice today, so he'd taken that as permission to not go. Kou would understand -- hell, he was still far more committed to the team than the rest of those slackers...

He'd thought about hanging out with Yosuke, but things had gotten... awkward last time, so maybe the guy needed a little space. Plus, they'd been together a lot lately, and he knew Yosuke's paranoia about all things homosexual was much worse than Kanji's sexual identity crisis. (Personally, he had his theories about that... but wasn't planning on sharing them anytime soon. Maybe once he was sure they had a 'bond that cannot be broken ( ... )

...Okay, so yeah, that was another way he could have avoided this predicament: by staying faithful to one girl.

To be fair, he hadn't set out to be a two-timer...! He'd just wanted a girlfriend -- emphasis on 'a' -- and with the Risette falling all over him, well, how could he refuse...? Besides, it was easier than tackling the Amagi Challenge -- sure, he got the impression Yukiko might be interested, but he didn't want to deal with a very jealous Prince. Or, you know, nearly every guy at Yasogami High getting pissed at the 'city boy'.

...But then Yumi had confessed. She loved him. And she forced him to make a choice: stay and accept her feelings, or leave while her back was turned so she wouldn't see him walk out of her life. The way she'd said that... inane as it sounded, Souji really got the impression that if he left now, he'd never see her again ( ... )

Rise had obviously known before they walked in, too. Long enough to have come prepared. (Though she might've gotten the handcuffs from his uncle's room. That thought didn't help too much.) And Yumi must have known, because she'd helped.

Helped turn him away from the door, backed him up until his shins slammed into the edge of the table -- painfully. Helped bend him back over it, pinning down his legs while Rise straddled his chest -- and Rise, Rise leaned way over him, treating him to a nice view of how her breasts bounced while she secured his hands. And when Rise was pushing his jacket back, coaxing his shirt up as far as it could go without actually taking it off, Yumi was working on his belt -- shimmying his pants down -- making sure he stayed nice and attentive ( ... )
