He could feel the butterflies in his stomach rioting as his moment to enter the stage drew closer, each line delivered on the stage hitting him like the ticking of some ominous clock.
He hadn't been against the idea of being in a play initially, oh no. He hadn't voted for it, but thought that it might have been fun. When the votes for Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet had come in tied for what the class would perform things began to head downhill. The general level of impending doom set in once several of the more ~creative~ students decided that they would re-write the two plays into some sort of Frankenstien-ish megaplay. And then some of the girls with...stranger interests became involved with the casting and costume design. He had tried to argue, pointing out that it was stupid for him to play that part when there were several girls there who could, and that one girl who refused to ( ... )
