(Anon know this is old, but I love looking through old requests to find ones that pique my interest. I couldn't pass this one up.) It wasn't every day that Kanji hung out with Souji alone and it was even rarer to do so in the comfort of the boy's temporary home. They had set up the time a month ago and Kanji had secretly counted down the days. The two had agreed to make some Valentine treats for their group. Anyone else wouldn't have found the day special but it was a rare occasion to share his budding love of cooking with someone other than his mother ( ... )

With a sigh Kanji took a bite; it was good. He was about to say as much when he heard a little giggle from behind him. He glanced over his shoulder and couldn't help but glare at Nanako out of embarrassment. “What's so funny?”

“You look like a mom and dad,” Nanako giggled. Kanji glanced at Souji; he was stifling a laugh as he handed his cousin a cookie. “Dad used to tell me that he and mom cooked a lot together.”

Souji smiled, “My mom and dad cook together too.”

Nanako mirrored Souji's smile, “I'm going to go out and play, is that okay?”

“Of course,” Souji nodded. He watched his cousin slip on her shoes while trying to eat the cookie she had received before disappearing out the door.

“A mom and dad, hm?” Kanji snorted, drying his hands. “She has a hell of an imagination.”

Souji laughed, “I think it was cute, darling Kanji frowned at the statement. He began to make another snide remark when Souji suddenly ran his thumb over the younger boy's lower lip. Kanji stared at him with wide eyes barely managing to control ( ... )
