It's like being summoned to the Velvet Room.

When he goes there himself there's the feeling of soft, brush of fabric against his skin, key in hand and the sense of opening a door. When he is summoned, between one moment and the next he is simply there, and no idea where he had been the previous moment.

Now he is there and no idea where 'there' is.

But there's a door.

Darkness all around, a shimmer of light beneath the mist at his feet. A few steps before him, that door, and the one chained to it.

Souji moves before he thinks about it, before he can wonder where he is. He is moving, bare feet crossing the unseen ground, approaching the figure and grasping at the chain on his wrist. The air shivers and Souji recoils, stares at the peaceful, motionless face.

"Senpai-" because he is. He went before, and fought, and won. But the adversary had been so great-
