She's no Risette, that's for sure. No luxurious curls frame her face; her hair's far too short, much too straight, and there's no ribbons to tug loose, no ties to snap. Snapping open that barrette's just not the same... and besides, first time he tried that, his fingers fumbled with the tiny clasp and he pushed the plastic against her scalp just a little too hard, and she yelped and bucked him right off.
