Persona 4 in the Dot Hack Universe. Preferably during The World R:2, because everything is nearly similar.

AIDA that will slowly swallow The World whole like a thick, black fog.
Player Killers, the Shadows that gather to prey on the weak.
And is it more than a coincidence that there are eight primary characters? Eight Personae? Eight suppressed egos? Eight Morganna Factors?

Some coma victims sound nice, too ...

That announcer-MAYUNO♥, her character was named-had been PK’d. The rumor boards were going wild, Apkallu users had posted a wave of fanart for MAYUNO♥ because she had been popular as an arena announcer. Popular, but gone. No one had seen MAYUNO♥ since she had been PK’d, but if rumors were true she was lying comatose in a hospital ( ... )

As a party member, NanaPurin was a solid one. Souji knew she was six year old in real life, but she looked about ten in the World and played like she was sixteen--she hardly needed him, but for his first few levels she walked with him, explained the perils of staying in a field too long, showed him how to sneak up on monsters and how to open booby-trapped treasure chests. She gave him better equipment than his starting set once he was a high enough level for it and shared some of her items with him (the offensive spell scrolls were, Souji realized, largely what allowed her to play solo as a character that normally was entirely relegated to support roles in a party. She couldn't capitalize on Rengekis, but she remembered what the manual said and talked Souji through his first few opportunities. She healed him so he wouldn't have to use any of his own items and said it was nothing when he thanked her ( ... )
