So, it's 9pm on Saturday night. I'm fixing to take a shower and hit the hay because I've got early church meetings tomorrow, but I'm also in the mood to write ficlets--if anyone so desires them of me. I'll most likely work on them tomorrow afternoon once I'm home from church

He's had too much to drink the first time he calls her Vampire Barbie to her face. She gets outrageously offended and bares her fangs at him. It doesn't scare him, and when he laughs, she throws him across the room.

So he comes back at her the same way, tossing her around like the baby vampire she is.

"See, I'll market you as Vampire Barbie, and Bonnie as Witch Barbie, and let's see..." He presses a finger to his lips, pondering what to call Elena. When he comes up blank, he just adds, "I'll have an Empire of hot, kick-ass girls

Perfect mix of funny and touching. And I love the difference of language between Damon and Stefan: hot / very beautiful. It may look like a small thing, but characterization-wise, it's spot on.

My favourite line/s?

Her expression changes from hostile to flattered in the blink of an eye, and Damon feels that twinge, the one that reminds him how much like Caroline he once was--needing someone's approval so badly that he ignored all the bad that came with the good.

Because as much as the show itself has failed to explore this (they may do *fingers crossed* in the future) to my satisfaction... you have hit the nail on the head right there. Perfect.

And as much as this is light and funny, it definitely has it's profound moments and that is definitely my favourite of them.

I can't quite believe you managed to get it all done in a drabble! Awesome!

Damon rolls his eyes. Caroline giggles before saying, "You'll be Bad-Boy Ken, and he'll be Perfect-Boyfriend Ken, and Jeremy will be Kid Brother Ken, and I'll have an Empire of hot, kick-ass boys."

Oh, god, THIS. I LOVED THIS SO MUCH. I really do like the idea of Damon/Caroline and in just a few words you captured that similarity between then that makes them so good, and Damon realizing it and actually actively trying to make her feel good (she's so insecure, I just want to hug her and tell her she's beautiful all the time, and the Caroline/Elena dynamic was done so well here <3) because he was the one who told her how "stupid, shallow and useless" she was and ouch, that's gotta hurt. And Stefan's difference in reaction- just excellent characterization all around. I LEGIT LOVE YOU.
