Bad morning

This morning I had to try and treat a guy who fell 7 stories off a balcony in my hotel. I mean I'm only trained in basic first aid. There was not much I could do other then put some gauze on his bleeding held and tell him to lie still till the EMT's got there. All these years working there I've walked by that balcony and wondered what it would

Oh my goodness. I have no absolutely idea what I would do in such a ghastly situation (I'm not trained in first aid, but I'm not sure whether that would make much of a difference, if push came to shove). I really doubt I'd handle it as well. Anyway... I hope things go okay for you.

That sounds terribly horrific. I hope that you've been able to debrief about it with supportive people and do whatever else you need to re-compose yourself.

Even just witnessing such a scene would have been a trauma, and you were more than just a passive observer. At the very least I think you could do with getting the night off. Take care of yourself!

nope no night off, we're down to 1 person a shift so there's no one else to cover. The GM called me and asked if I needed to talk to anyone. I'll be ok though.
