My house is damn cold. Now that I've gotten that confirmed in an energy audit, I just feel only that much colder. Last winter we had feet of snow, but this winter it seems that we've had more days of below-freezing temperatures. I can't find any data to support this--temps this winter are reportedly above average--but cold weather seems more

our house leaks too. We did the window plastic thing for the windows, but it doesn't help for walls/floors nor the front doors.

Last night I found out that the flue in the downstairs fireplace doesn't close all the way. I found this out because when we lit a fire in the upstairs fire place the downstairs filled with smoke. Joy.

This is one of those times I'm glad we rent. It's someone else's problem to fix.

My house is rather cold and not well insulated. One of my neighbors was saying the first owner had a makeshift church IN the house which was originally built in 1955 and was remodeled a bit with shoddy workmanship by the couple I bought it from. But it presents really well and does look cute.
