change of plans?

We do selective/delayed vaxing. I was never planning on giving the MMR, just because I have known people that have had measles and I guess now Mumps, and the potential consequences of those diseases didn't seem in balance with the potential consequences of MMR.  To tired to do any more reading but I'll put this out there for my parent friends. We only allow one vax per appointment so Khylie is done with hers but Chloah still has three more to be up to date.

We don't vax for tetinus/chicken pox/hepB We did vax for MMR because alex has had the measles (he was older though I think 12) and said it was hell.

We've both had CP and decided it wasn't worth the risk.

HOWEVER. After chloah's first vax at four months she broke out into a full body rash (it was dpat, I might have the abv. wrong) and didn't stop screaming for two days, so we waiting five more months and started the vax's again, no problems since then, but if we homeschool from this point on and end up having another we will not vax, my biggest issue was K goes to nursery school so I *had* to have some vax, and I was scared she'd bring home something odd.

sorry so long:-/

yeah my reasoning is that Naeem doesn't go to daycare, we aren't planning on travelling over seas so he can wait for his vax's. Are there lots of homeschoolers in middletown?

Not that I know of. There are a lot in Franklin though. And a lot of homeschooling resources at the Franklin library.

It's a very personal choice. The vast majority of vaccinations cause little to no side effects. But they *can* happen. And I think family history plays the biggest role in that. If a family member had a reaction, there's a higher chance you will ( ... )

:-)
I don't think vax's are teh evil. It's funny that all the stuff I found was so polarizing. Like you are totally looney if you don't vax, or you want your kids to die if you do vax. It's hard to find open debate on so many subjects, especially relating to parenting.

I couldn't believe that they even had a vax for chicken pox.

I have delayed all vax on my two but my stepson had all the vax's done. I thought people were crazy when I heard they weren't giving their kids vaccines, but them I read more about it and decided not to.
I'm mostly concerned about Autism(guess which one of the three kids is on the spectrum?) and allergy type issues(guess which one of the kids has had to have tonsils/adnoids out.
Just saying.
Of course, we're starting them on my oldest now because he's going to Senegal, but he's almost 8 and I think the Thimerosal threat is no longer a problem...
I'm thinking of getting tetanoid on teh youngest now that she's 4...
