Kittens are ace but a lot of hassle. At the first vet's visit for jabs I thought Rico must be really ill and was going to die when she said he had an umbilical hernia, turns out it's just something that they'll fix when they neuter him.
Vets also seem very expensive, I wonder whether we've taken them to a bit of an over-priced one as it's in a pretty posh area and so far we've spent £160 in 3 weeks. I would like to think that it'll be cheaper from here in but once they're 6 months it'll be another £110 for the neutering and hernia repair and I'm not sure if they'll need to stay in for a couple of days which will probably be another £30 a day.
Rico has now got a lump on his bottom lip which I think is because his canines are poking down too far and rubbing it. I think it's not too serious but because we really don't like the thought of them suffering in any way I'm sure we will be heading back to the vets shortly.
They are amazingly cute however and play football across the lounge for hours and come running to me when I call them (mostly when their food bowl is empty, but at other times too!) Socks likes to try and kiss my nose which is a bit weird and sometimes my mouth which is just gross. Rico knows how to get the bathroom door open which is nice.
We keep worrying that we're terrible owners though, they've both ended up shut in the cupboard under the stairs alone for a few hours in the pitch black - they were not impressed but they did stop trying to run in there for a while.
I'll try to work out how to post pictures of them on here at some point.
