Light turns 18 in February and meets Misa for the first time in May of the same year (that year is 2004 in the manga, but is 2007 in the anime).

Fallow: uncultivated, inactive. So apparently the bottle is both inactive and spinning. Very talented, I'm sure.
"you're so..." he could barely whisper out the last word "big..."
Dunno why, but it never before ocurred to me that a shinigami would be, er, anatomically correct. This makes me wish they weren't.

So, if you want to write any kind of shinigami smut, you either have to ignore that or you have to find rather clever ways to get around it despite the canon author's attempts to completely negate the concept.
As far as shinigami smut, I've seen:
1) Just ignoring the rule.
2) Death Note users don't count as human any more, which gets around the rule.
3) RyukxLight necrophilia (under the assumption that a dead body doesn't count as a human).
4) As long as the shinigami king doesn't find out, you can break the rules as much as you want.
5) Re-defining certain kinds of sex as not actually "counting" for the purposes of the rule, such as using a strap-on dildo.

As for your examples, it makes me wonder how long badficcers had to dwell on getting around this rule. ...Then again, I don't really wanna know.
