Bit of both, to be honest - thanks. I think I pulled some quite interesting faces while reading that. It's like... bits of it had the potential to maybe be semi-decent, but those were overlaid with *so much fail*.

If you don't know the fandom, I highly recommend completely avoiding the fanfic while you sit down and immerse yourself in the amazingness that is the Death Note canon.

The anime is at justdubs.net and the manga at onemanga.com and both are almost identical plot-wise.

Avoid the live action movies like the plague until after you've finished either the manga or anime. They make every major plot twist incredibly lame and only improve by having a slightly better ending.
