Well said and Amenlv_prosewriterMarch 26 2009, 02:32:00 UTC
I grew up upper middle class, went to graduate school and won't ever own a house or send my kid to college. I'm sorry nice people are losing their jobs, but...
I once worked for one of the planet's biggest Ad agencies, in payroll. I understood the sales people and account people making bonuses...if you land a $5 million account, you SHOULD get a cut!
But what about the creative team, art department, copy-writers and editors, traffic people, and the 178 OTHER people who busted ass for 9 days straight so Mr. Executive could HAVE that presentation?
Nothing. Hourly wages or day rates. Few who were even eligible for overtime.
And let's not even discuss how one meat-head exec (who was, indeed, kicked upstairs to be put out of the way because he was an utter nit-wit and the relative of some mucky-muck), who I KNOW delegated everything but smiling and kissing ass, who earned an average quarterly bonus of $15K. On top of his 6 figure salary, benefits package, and about 2 dozen 'executive perks' (like free financial consulting, travel vouchers, car service, etc).
