This photo was taken on my mobile phone in Edinburgh three or four years ago. Edinburgh is the only city in the UK where I have heard Catalan spoken in the street!
I had two Catalan customers in the shop I worked in once, while I was still in NZ. I only recognized it for what it was because I'd already met Florenci by that point. I'd heard these two guys chatting to each other while they were waiting in the line at my checkout. They flipped the heck out when I greeted them with "Bon dia"! (which is about all I could say at that point, except "T'estimo molt", which just didn't seem appropriate outside of Florenci... ;D)
