A/N: Double drabble.
It’s said that opposites attract, that people are drawn to those with qualities they personally lack, that extroverts and introverts fit together like puzzle pieces. Dee can’t decide whether or not that’s true, because he and JJ are complete opposites, and while JJ clearly thinks Dee is his perfect match, Dee can’t stand being around him.
JJ is exhausting, too full of energy, too cutesy, too noisy, and just… smothering. He’s demanding, high maintenance, and every time he throws himself at Dee, babbling about true love, all Dee wants is for him to shut the hell up and go away.
Ryo, on the other hand, is quiet and soothing, self-contained, independent, a thinker, often lost in his own world, which kind of makes him Dee’s opposite, since Dee is more of a doer than a thinker. And yet Dee would never class Ryo as an introvert. He’s friendly and outgoing, and he gets along with almost everyone. In his own way, he’s as much of a people person as Dee is.
When it comes right down to it, he and Ryo aren’t so different. Both cops, both classic car enthusiasts, both great dancers… Maybe they’re just different enough to work.
