Summary: It hurts that Jack left, but there’s nothing Ianto can do about it.

A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto wasn’t about to fall apart, crumble into a heap of tears and misery, over the fact that Jack had buggered off and left him, because he didn’t see the captain’s desertion of his post as personal. Yes, Jack had kissed him in front of everyone a matter of hours before disappearing, but he’d left the whole team, not just his lover, and while Ianto wasn’t optimistic about him coming back, he wasn’t ruling it out either.
They’d already managed to confirm that their fearless leader had NOT in fact been abducted against his will, so if he’d chosen to leave, he could just as easily change his mind and choose to come back. That was what free will was all about.
Still, he wouldn’t deny that it hurt, not so much that Jack had left, because Ianto knew he couldn’t claim Jack was HIS, but that his lover hadn’t cared enough to say goodbye, leave a note, or even send a quick text, ‘Sorry, gotta go, it was fun while it lasted.’ Although, come to think of it, Ianto wasn’t sure Jack knew how to send texts.
There was at least consolation in knowing that Jack was alive, somewhere.
