My parents recently offered me a very generous birthday-related donation to be put toward the purchase of a brand new iPod. I was a bit surprised to find they're only making the 20 and 40 GB ones now, but since the price has dropped significantly for both I can hardly complain. I'm wagering that there are currently only two iPod models
because the third, biggest iPod hit production delays of some kind.
I would expect that $500 spot to be filled by a 60GB, maybe even 80GB model before Christmas,
so waiting might be in your best interest.

As far as iPod vs. iClone,
The iPod's interface is everything to me.
Every clone I've seen has about 2X as many buttons as it should.
I also love the fact that the iPod is a perfect mirror of my iTunes setup.
Those other players are likely to require other, clunkier software to interface ;-)

Whatever you decide, I *strongly* recommend you spring the extra cash for the coverage plan.
You won't regret it.

And I'll get to work on that request, too...

Is a anything larger than a 20 necessary? I'm sure I wouldn't have trouble filling up a 40 GB one, but I can't imagine ever needing that much music at once.

I also only have a PC and would think iPod's are a bit more difficult to hook up to that than a Mac.

Firewire or USB 2.0?

wow, yeah, i AM surprised that you're checking out KMFDM. they sound a lot cleaner in the studio than they do live, but it's still a really fun show. i've seen them...even met the two singers, in fact. jamason still hasn't given me copies of the pictures (ARE YOU READING THIS JAMASON???) lol. s'all good. i didn't realize you listened to the mates of state. allen's played them for me a couple times. i liked them a lot. far as i-pods go, i don't know dick.
