Congratulations on passing your boards! I wish you were just a little closer so I could come by and say hi, but West Virginia is one of those states I'm literally afraid of. 'Course, I felt the same about Texas until I went there. The fact that you are looking forward to a trip to PITTSBURGH is telling.

I've looked into heading up to New England - it's not a part of the country where I've ever spent much time. But it's a 10-12 hour drive from here to Boston, depending on if you go through NYC or not. So it'll take one of the longer breaks before I go that far.

I will say this - the town, the department, and my students are far more multicultural than I expected. I have had the best chicken tikka masala I've ever eaten, and a really tasty version of bi bim bap. But the less said about the travesty that is the local take on "Mexican", the better.

I'm glad it's working out pretty well, at least food-wise. When we were considering moving I always checked the city for Indian and Thai food.

If you make it to New England, let me know!

I have done the "live in one place for only a year" thng, and it sucks. Especially since it was South Dakota and pre-intartubes (well, for widepsread finding-interesting-people purposes), so there was really no way to meet anyone.
