Rrrgh. At least it sounds like it'll all work out in the end, even if it involved ridiculous time on the phone sorting it out.

Hope everything goes smoothly with both the name change and the flight stuff!

PS I'm super excited for you to visit!

Except for the hold time, I'm impressed that JetBlue seemed capable of giving you a useful answer. I feel like most airlines would have said "uhh buh guh pants?"

I did talk to two people, and the second of them, as soon as I described my situation, went for the "hold on, I need to consult with an associate". She sounded kind of cheerful to have something interesting come up.

TSA has a procedure for if you loose your wallet:

1) you tell the desk person 'I've lost my wallet/it was stolen'
2) they write a very simple code on the back of your boarding pass (like T33 or something like that - my Dad found it once onlinew/ TSA's training materials)
3) you go through security & put you through a few extra checks to make sure you don't have anything dangerous

BTW, my dad thought this was possibly the dumbest procedure you could possibly come up with as it could allow someone on the do-not-fly list to fly very easily...
