Apparently we got snarked in parent_drama again.

I skimmed the posts looking for something to spark it, but it must be a slow day in dramaland, cuz nothing really jumped out as particularly snarkable.

Anyway, until the nonsense subsides, membership requests will be denied immediately.

That community hasn't had any activity in over a month...

Odd that I had an influx of requests in a single day - all of whom are members of that community. Closure still stands - we got snarked somewhere.

I think there was a post here that was x-posted to booj for a time. Maybe that was what brought attention to the community. There's a lot of booj/parent drama overlap too.

It's your community and you can open or close membership as you see fit, but I haven't seen this place snarked anywhere.

It's everyone's community. I hardly even post on LJ anymore, but I don't wanna see us get influxed with drama-mongering people with nothing better to do but start shit with people wanting to commiserate and be friendly.

So, I'll keep it shut down temporarily, then quietly start accepting people again. :) Thanks.

The only recent parent-related drama I know about (and I'm not necessarily all that in the know) was a post someone made to thequestionclub and cf_hardcore bragging about knocking down a woman's toddler while she was reading a magazine. That's probably not it...

Echoing the above that there haven't been any posts in there, I have it on my friends list. Also it has open membership so you could join it and check it out.

As the lazy-mod, I'm backing up ginabuny - this community isn't really hopping and we usually only get a couple of requests over the space of weeks or months, and we got many of them all at once today. This almost always means we got snarked somewhere and the people looking to join are wanting to stir the proverbial pot.

Whether or not we hunt down the drama-post (we used to so that we could ban whatever members participated), it's a good idea to close membership to prevent the drama sharks from feeding on anything here, fresh meat or no. :)
