Please tell me you don't know someone whose Fallopian Tubes caught fire.

Recent news finally got me motivated again! Here's part three!

Title: Death's Other Kingdom (3/?)
Pairing: eventual Destiel
Rating: PG
Warnings: I think you get the idea. It's angst.
Summary: Gabriel has a plan.

Castiel wanders.

He cannot tell for how long, as there is no sense of time or of distance in this place.

However long he walks, he does not come across another soul. He suspects this is through concerted effort on the part of the Mother.

And then, suddenly, there is Gabriel.

“Alright, I think I’ve got the old gang back together, or something along those lines. I mean, Balthazar refuses to speak to you, and I had to straight up lie to Zachariah, but we’ve got a plan and it’s getting set it motion!”

Gabriel seems to be waiting for an exultation of some sort, but Castiel just stares.

“Okay, now you’re supposed to ask me what the plan is?”

Castiel capitulates.

“Why, I’m so glad you asked, Castiel.” Gabriel seems pleased at the opportunity for showmanship. “You see, the one good thing meant to come out of the End Times was the abolishment of Purgatory. This was never meant as a permanent fix, it’s just a place holder.”

That catches Castiel’s attention. “What do you mean? How do you know this?”

Gabriel chuckles at that. “You guys all seem to forget I was in the upper echelon, way back when. I mean once the world ends, all the souls in Purgatory get shipped on to Heaven or Hell, whichever they’re meant to be.”

Castiel absorbs this for a time. He dares to hope.

“So how does this help us?”

“Oh, don’t play dumb, Cas,” Gabriel cuffs him lightly, “We can kick-start the whole thing. We’ve got enough juice down here, between all the angels and demons and pagan Gods, we just might make it.”

"Then why have you not done it before?"

"Here I thought you were supposed to be smart, brother mine," Gabriel rolls his eyes, without actually having eyes to roll, "Because we've had Leviathan breathing down our necks this whole time. They've been the boss of this place since it was set up, but thanks to your spectacularly bad plan, we've got free reign down here now."

Castiel lifts his head. He flexes his wings and meets his brother’s eye.

“What do you need me to do?”
