I finished up the leaf compost yesterday with another four hours of work.  So now I know it takes about 10 hours total to spread 10 cubic yards of soil.  The final third of it was easier in some ways because the heat was much less intense yesterday, but on the other hand, the pile had compacted a bit and gotten rained on a little, so it was heavier ( Read more... )

The Fall is AMAZING! We've had some really great series in the UK the past year and this was one of the highlights.

It's just brilliant, even if the first episode gave me scream-out-loud nightmares about being strangled :-/ M asked me if I was sure I wanted to keep watching it, to which I replied yes, I need closure! Which now I don't have, but as it became more clear that the killer was as much a metaphor as a monster, my subconscious was better able to cope.

I wonder how often you walk past that little fawn, so still in its nest of camouflage, on your walks.

I thought the same thing as I walked by a tiny bunny today :-) The Cemetery would be a great place for the doe to park her fawn during the day, as long as she's with it in the morning and evening to protect it from the coyotes (who don't come out during the day much to speak of).

Oh, I didn't realise The Fall was set in Norn Iron. Is it done properly, with proper actors from there etc? I will have to keep a closer eye out for it if it comes here.

Not sure where the actors were from, but I suspect many were locals. The context was important to the story.
