in my opinion, religion is a way for people to justify that wich cannot be explained. we dont know why, for instance, we decided to wear clothes insted of walking around naked like other animals so we make up story, much as the greeks did. i also agree with you on the point of those in power use religion to keep order. medieval monarchs said the divine himself chose them to be king and people bought it. who were they to question one chosen by god? so yeah. i agree with you.
