[ Character's Name ] : Poison
[ Character's Age ] : 21
[ Series ] : Final Fight
[ Canon Point ] : The end of Final Fight, after she's become Hugo Andore's wrestling manager.

[ History ] :
A member of Metro City's Mad Gear gang, Poison - or Poison Kiss, as she's known in the original Japanese - is the eye candy of the gang, along with Roxy. What people don't realize upon first meeting her however, is that she began life as a male.

As a young child, Poison had always felt like an outsider. He was reluctant to go out and play with the other boys during school or at playgrounds, and instead preferred to hang out with the girls since he identified with them. However, he'd managed to keep his feelings stifled until high school. After he graduated, he stole a sizable amount of money from his wealthy parents and left home to become a woman, not returning until years later to reveal her real identity. Unfortunately for Poison, her parents were disgusted by what she'd become, and disowned her.

Now homeless, Poison was left to her own devices, forced to resort to petty theft and even prostitution to live. It wasn't until she was recruited by the Mad Gear gang that she finally found people who accepted her - that she could consider a second family of sorts. She also found a friend in Roxy, a girl who idolized Poison, even going so far as to dress almost exactly like her.

When Mike Haggar, Cody, and Guy defeated the members of Mad Gear, the gang was dissolved and Poison was once again off on her own. This time though, she decided to rid herself of her life of crime. Around the same time another former Mad Gear member, Hugo Andore, decides to pursue a professional wrestling career. Poison and Hugo had been friends while in the gang, and she takes on a new job - this time as Hugo's professional manager. They've already managed to make an excellent amount of money, and this is when Poison comes into Vatheon - presumably while scouting and planning Hugo's next wrestling appearance.

[ Personality ] :
Poison was shaped by her childhood and her parents' view of her; as such, she is sensitive to discrimination, yet at the same time won't take abuse at all. While living on the streets, Poison managed to teach herself self-defense, and has picked up some wrestling and martial arts moves from watching the Mad Gear thugs and their enemies in action. Although she enjoys fighting, she isn't above using her femininity as a distraction, either - her clothing could be seen as a means for this purpose, and she'll flirt with the opposition up until they realize they're done for, as shown in her special move in Final Fight Revenge. Extremely reserved about herself though, Poison will not disclose her previous life to anyone - she managed to find acceptance while in the gang, but doesn't want to think about how others might react to her should they find out about her past.

Unfortunately, she wasn't given too much of a persona in the original Final Fight; in Final Fight Revenge however, Poison was finally made a playable character (as opposed to being an enemy character in the original), in which she was given more of a flamboyant, flirtatious air rather than straight-up gang thug. Also, in her Revenge ending, she is seen bringing flowers to Cody when she visits him in prison; however, her gesture is rebuked due to Cody still having feelings for Jessica (nevermind Poison being the reason for Cody's imprisonment; she framed him for her own crimes). When she's brought into the Street Fighter fold beginning with Street Fighter III: Second Impact, it's in her new role as Hugo's manager; she usually accompanies him in his fight entrances, and more often than not will return when he wins to taunt the fallen opponent. It's in the Street Figher games that one discovers Poison's managerial skills, as when SF3: Third Strike is beaten with Hugo, the two interrupt a wrestling match in progress; Poison takes the mic to tell everyone that they must join up with hers and Hugo's wrestling league and that they will soon be the champions of the world (fun fact: every person Hugo defeated in order to win the game is seen in the ending wearing a t-shirt with Poison and Hugo's league initials, including Ken and Ryu).

She is ruthless, due to her rough life on the streets and in the Mad Gear gang, and she brings that and her determination to her current gig. She's also very observant, and this is revealed in the bits of dialogue she has in SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos, when she will discuss watching fighters in their bouts, scouting them and keeping them in mind as potential wrestling partners. Poison isn't without kindness, however, as demonstrated in her Revenge ending and her agreement to take on the job with Hugo; it's simply kept for those she considers close to her. That said, she still would keep certain things to herself - i.e. her born gender - due to the aforementioned fear of rejection and discrimination. As such, she will put on a slightly aloof, flirtatious, yet tough air to people when she first meets up with them, and will more likely than not be willing to fight rather than talk.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
She is an excellent fighter, either hand-to-hand or with weapons; when it comes to said weapons, Poison is more likely to use a knife or a whip (the latter being her weapon of choice in-game), though she isn't a bad shot.

Due to her street life, she's also good at lightening your load. In blunt terms, she's a thief, and if you cross her the wrong way (or just have something she likes), Poison won't think twice about ganking it from you, either right then and there, or from your place when you're unaware.

On the other end, due to her previous life, Poison is extremely sensitive to discrimination and prejudice, and will leap up to defend someone else from it.

She's also the type to clam up when pasts are brought up, and nothing will change that, short of mind-reading. As such, she's extremely reluctant about living with someone else, unless she's absolutely certain she won't be walked in on during personal moments.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
There has been a ton of ongoing debate concerning Poison's gender; so much in fact, that Street Fighter IV's producer, Yoshinori Ono, even went on the record stating, “Let's set the record straight: In North America, Poison is officially a post-op transsexual. But in Japan, she simply tucks her business away to look female.” This was also the reason why Poison wasn't added to the SFIV roster, due to region-specific gender issues.

As such, I would just like to make it clear that I would be playing Poison as she was originally intended; a pre-op transsexual, identifying as female and using the appropriate pronouns, yet being an extremely convincing trap (as I said when describing her to friends, “She's all woman until you take her shorts off”). Not sure if it's going to be a big deal or not, but I will be making a permissions post for her if she's accepted into the community in order to address any possible issues.

Also, be prepared for Poison to experience a huge culture shock; she's from the late 1980s/early 1990s after all!

[ Sample ] :
The life of a wrestling manager wasn't for everyone. True, it looked as if the one in the ring was the one getting all the glory and accolades, but who was the one who got that schmuck into the ring in the first place?

Tilting her hat up a bit, Poison raised an eyebrow, a smile on her lips as she looked at their next opponent. Beside her stood Hugo Andore, one of her closest friends from their Mad Gear days, already tensing his massive body. Standing next to him, Poison looked like she was nothing more than a pretty doll. To go behind the scenes though, would reveal that she was the brains behind their success. All throughout this tournament, she'd been keeping a close watch on their previous opponents, assessing their strengths and weaknesses, and recruiting them into their expanding wrestling stable. This new one looked like he would make an excellent addition.

Pausing in front of their new foe, she folded her arms under her breasts, sizing up the other man. “Hmmm...you don't look like much,” she commented, a finger tapping her lower lip in thought. Once he eyed Hugo, Poison shook her head with a laugh. “Don't tell me you're going to start whining about weight classes now, because I don't give a rip. Hugo...,” she looked up at the wrestler beside her. “What do you think?”

“I can mash him into the pavement!” Across from them, the other man chuckled.

“You seem formidable. It will be an honor fighting you,” he replied, tightening his headband. At that, Poison lifted a hand, a finger waving in the air.

“When we win, you belong to us. You will fight for our league, and you will be on Hugo's tag team when it is necessary.” A smirk. “Do we have a deal?”

“Of course,” the other man replied. “Perhaps I'll be able to learn something from wrestling. But don't count on me losing to the likes of you. True strength lies not in sheer size.”

Poison laughed under her breath, patting Hugo's arm. “We'll just see about that now, won't we?” she said. Glancing up at her partner, she winked, then walked out of the arena to the manager's area, sitting back with a knowing smile. Poison had watched Ryu's previous matches and coached Hugo appropriately in order to prepare for this match. As such, Hugo knew the other man's weaknesses. This bout was theirs to win.
