Souji. Everything about him made her feel complete, whole, as if there was this giant hole inside of her that could only be filled with his presence. His stormy eyes, his toned, muscled body, his ability to draw people around him, charmed by his calm voice, kind words, and gentle smile. His actions, his reason, his charisma, his composure, his skill, his finese, his grace, his will, his strength-
Everything about him was perfect.
Of course she was drawn to him; after all, everyone was. There wasn't a single soul in Inaba that didn't know his name, that didn't smile fondly when he was mentioned. From the moment she first saw him, she knew, knew something about him was special, that something made him different from everyone else. Even when he was warning her inside her grandmother's tofu shop, as crazy and strange as he sounded, there was still something that made her heart jump, something that made her blood rush, something that made her head dizzy and made her

Every Friday after school, when she was exhausted from her new classes and the endless ogling over Risette, the Risette, in their class, he would meet her in the first year's hallway and offer to spend time with her. It was the one thing that made her really, really happy. He made time for her, just for her, even when she knew he didn't have much time to spare at all. Being Inaba's most beloved citizen, he was friends with virtually everyone, and those who weren't he friends wanted to be, yearned to be more than anything. He had as many part-time jobs as Kanji had stuffed animal plushies. Somehow, he always had the highest exam grade out of anyone in school, and she knew he studied hard to keep those grades, despite him being a genius already. And on top of it all, he managed to raise and look after Nanako, participate in after school clubs, and somehow lead the entire team and keep everyone safe and sound. This made everything even more special, more important to her, so whenever he asked to see her, she

When Souji played along with her act, pretending to be her fiancé, her future husband out of high school, she nearly cried. She had been trying so hard to get away from that life, to escape Risette and her bagage, but somehow she caught up to her despite her best efforts. She didn't want to remember who she was forced to be; the memories hurt, and the thought of returning to that role she hated more than anything choked her. Why couldn't she just run away, run away from everything, run away from the fame, the fans, the publicity, the idol. She'd try so hard to get away, right? Moving in with her grandmother, relocating to a small town, working as a simple teenage sales clerk in a tofu shop...was it all too much? Not enough? Would it ever be enough?
She screamed the first thought that came to mind-no, first dream that came to mind. It was her greatest hope, her only wish-that maybe one day someday, she and Souji would come together, fall in love, get married, raise a family, be normal. Better than normal.

Souji kept approaching her, asking for her time, and she always said yes. Days went on as they normally did with shopping, random talks about nothing in particular, the exchanging of emotions, the passing of jokes, the sharing of smiles. God, she wanted his smile-it never ceased to be breathtaking, whether it was an obnoxious display of teeth, a small quirk of the lips, a slight tilt to one side, a full blown grin, a goofy lop-sided smile, or a genuine expression of content. No matter the race or color of Souji's smile, it was absolutely beautiful. Flawless. And whatever situation they found themselves in when he was wearing it, she never got enough of it. It always made her feel better about herself, made her feel like life was worthwhile after all

Souji-centric, but the person 'singing' can be anybody (though I was thinking of Adachi while listening to it...)
