squishy souji

Souji got a little bit fat after game, not getting so much exercise any more, and was embarrasssed to see his lover again after some time apart. I hope it is still OK to request Souji/Yosuke? If not, it could be anybody with him.
Morally, Souji was on good terms with himself. Most days when he looked in the mirror he saw himself, and nothing more or less. He was a good student, he punished the wicked and protected the innocent. He could guess obscure riddles, and he took care of stray cats. He granted people's wishes, damn it. He was a wild card, a fool, a rebel with a cause.
Or at least, that's who he had been last time he'd seen Yosuke. It was that guy that Yosuke would have been expecting to look up and see across a train car one day by chance, not some pudgy second year law student in a university suit that was meant to blend into a crowd of businessmen...which was the guy that happened to be staring back out of the mirror at Souji this morning.
* It was a Tuesday. The rooftop was quiet and nearly deserted on the damp, slightly sticky late spring afternoon. The usual characters were up there of course, but most of the students who weren't oddly drawn to weather patterns and phenomena were inside, away from potential allergens and sudden downpours. It

The knocking on the door wasn't unexpected when it came, but it was slightly exasperating. Couldn't a man contemplate his changing station in life without any interruptions? Souji narrowed his eyes just the slightest bit and stoically ignored the knocking. It seemed to work, and he had some time to contemplate fixing his hair, but his hair was perfect as usual. It made Souji frown a little

The door wasn't rattling anymore, but the voice on the other side was still there. It was coming from lower now, as though Yosuke had simply slid down in front of it and decided to camp out there until Souji eventually had no choice but to emerge. He seemed to be killing the time by catching Souji up on things, now, instead of shouting for him to open the door and embarrassing them both

“I don't think so!” Souji didn't even see it coming, but Yosuke did. All Souji felt was the force of being knocked away to one side, hard. He grunted in pain. Yosuke had just knocked the breath right out of him, but he wasn't not angry. He was afraid. It wasn't the first time Yosuke had taken a huge blow for him.
Souji got up to his hands and knees, and Yukiko was just finishing the creepy baby-shaped shadow off with a fury that she hadn't possessed a moment ago. Teddie was screaming in his typical panic when something was very, very wrong. Chie had dropped down to her knees beside Yosuke, tears were already dripping down along the bridge of her nose. “Yukiko, hurry! He's not breathing!”
Yosuke wasn't the only one who had stopped breathing, and it wasn't just because of that hit that Souji had taken. Oh, please, no. He begged silently. He was too young to get someone killed. Yosuke was too young to die for someone. Chie was too young to be screaming at her friend to wake up or she would kick his ass. They were all in so far

Oh, this is awesome so far! I love the flashbacks. And is it just me, or does Yosuke not have any idea why Souji is being acting so distant? I like that it's very subtly done, not too dramatic but just right. I can't wait to read the rest!
Oh, anon... I do hope you still plan on writing and posting the rest of this. It's really great, a very fun read that pulls hard at my heartstrings. I look forward to the rest if you're still interested in continuing.
