Yosuke nods. "Yeah, me, too."
"Yeah, yeah. So, don't even torture yourself with all that 'Souji couldn't possibly like me for real' bullshit. 'Cause he could. What he did was fucked up--I'm not saying it wasn't. I'd still kick his ass, if he walked in here, right now. But all this insecurity, all this 'I'm not good enough' crapola, that shouldn't even enter into your decision." She grins. There's a piece of spinach stuck between her teeth. She licks it away, before he can point it out

I liked the ending, actually! And yes, it was worth the wait (I'm sorry I didn't see this until Marukyu posted it, though).
I also have to praise the "buddy moments" between Yosuke and the other IT. I romantically ship Yosuke ONLY with Souji, but I have a major soft spot for friendship moments between him and everyone else (especially the first years).
I'm not very good with reviews and I'm out of time, so I apologize this isn't more in-depth. Lovely work, Writer!Anon!

Thank you anon for such an amazing story. I loved reading every part of it and as somebody above said, this is one story I wanted to finish reading on the meme (I've been on here way too long too). Its a shame you can't repost it elsewhere with the formatting but I'll still keep the link saved. There are a few truly epic takes crafted on this meme, and this has got to be one of the best. Hey there! So, I don't know if you're still checking responses to this fill (probably not, after over a year) . . . but if by any chance you see this comment, I'm the anon who asked about whether you were going to repost this fic elsewhere, and I have a question! I had some free time on my hands recently, so I converted this fill into a html document, just so that I'd have a pretty and readable version of it on my computer without all the LJ threading. Now it's just sitting on my computer, but I'm wondering--would you be okay with me possibly sharing it with other people? It's properly attributed to you and includes a link to the original meme thread, and I wouldn't be hosting it as a webpage, just uploading the file to mediafire or something so that interested parties can download it

Just came across this, and got so caught up in the story that I read it all in one setting. Anon, you are crazy and BRILLIANT. I love Souji and Yosuke (which is saying a lot, because he's the type of character I usually cannot stand, and yet you made me adore him the most) and Yosuke's dad and everyone in this fic, and I love what you did at the end. It felt like we went on a journey together, and a very entertaining, satisfying one too.

Okay, I'm probably waaaay too late, but I really love this! I was really rooting for your Yosuke because he's my favourite character - and one I've always sympathised with - and you just write him so perfectly. I don't often bookmark fics, but this one went straight into the folder.
Also, surprised myself when I realised I was actually rooting for Yosuke/Kanji because I've never even considered it. This is all just so goooooood
