Making this post most especially for my hilarious and talented IRL friend who is subjecting herself to the horrifying experience of reading this journal! Cis-decalin...I hope you come out of this alive. I said I was 14 when I wrote most of this, but no, I was 16. I think I was just in denial. Unexpurgated for friendship and your dubious reading

I agree with you re. Homestuck. I've kept reading it out of fascination with the multimedia storytelling method, mostly; at this point I could take or leave much of the story itself. (Such as it is.)
How's learning Arabic? I keep hearing it's a nightmare of a language to pick up for a non-native speaker, particularly since apparently most words are entirely different in their singular and plural forms, if I understand correctly?

The plot has just become too convoluted to really get invested in, I find - I enjoy the style and the storytelling technique a lot, but I almost feel as though the serial format just makes it too exhausting to keep up. And, yes, the "Tavros can't walk" jokes and "Sollux is bipolar, which means he has two dream selves" are just the icing on the cake...but I can't quit it! Also, its creator seems genuinely convinced he's creating a masterwork, which is a little offputting.
STILL WORKING ON...THE ALPHABET. I have never spoken a living language (apart from English, obvs) fluently before, and I don't have a good ear for pronunciation. I'll put updates once I get to the grammar (66 pages of my textbook are devoted to just being able to read and write the letter; I'm 15 pages in and still drilling myself.) Do you speak any second languages?
