Here we go. We have magical gifts, pretty uniforms, tons of angst, unresolved sexual tension, Random Capitalisation of Words, violent murder, and an over-powered yet tragically flawed protagonist. It's the Demesneverse, all right.

This is very intriguing. Dara doesn't seem likeable (it's disturbing how she bullies her way through people), but she is interesting. I wonder if she will change as a person.

I have no particular plans for an Aseena counterpart, but we'll see. At a certain point, I tend to just start randomly adding characters in the hopes that it will let me add more wordcount. ;) I wonder what caste she'd be? One of the unchanging parts of her concept is that she can never seem to stick to doing the same thing for very long...
Dara isn't especially nice, no. Though I think she's mostly using bluster to hide how very uncomfortable she is around other people.

HAHAHA NOW YOU MUST INTERACT AND INTERFERE WITH EACH OTHER AND HAVE THINKY THOUGHTS ABOUT ONE ANOTHER.
Sometimes, I think NaNo is a lot like being a trickster god, only your semi-inscrutable will is bent towards increasing wordcount - more characters! More demons! EARTHQUAKE. Maybe a prophecy? ;)
"Dara isn't especially nice, no. Though I think she's mostly using bluster to hide how very uncomfortable she is around other people."
And she doesn't know how to relate to them very well! SHE IS LIKE BONES. Is her character arc learning to become less of accidental jerk? ;)

Before adding in the effects of Charms, I think they're pretty much equal, yeah. :) In fact, you probably could write up Dara like this:
Physical: Strength 2, Dexterity 2, Stamina 2
Social: Charisma 1, Appearance 4, Manipulation 1
Mental: Intelligence 3, Perception 4, Wits 2
Dawn:
Zenith: Integrity 3
Twilight: Investigation 4, Lore 3, Medicine 2, Occult 1
Night: Awareness 4
Eclipse: Bureaucracy 1, Socialise 0 (+3 detect lies)
... which requires me to bend the Exalted rules a little, but you get the idea. ;)
It's not that he's not smart, it's that he's used to working inside the box. He can't see outside it like Dara can.
Thank you! That's pretty much what I was going for with him. :D
Also, whatever Regal named this City needs to take a good hard look at themselves, that's a totally depressing name. I think the citizens of Shadowed Citadel just have a thing for stylish doom and gloom. After all, they're people who knocks holes in perfectly good walls because living ( ... )
