Yay! I am so cool, protecting Aseena from evil. Aseena is also very cool. I would totally look after her. With my awesome scrying powers.
I like how Aseena knows Jalon so well, and is utterly unperturbed by his flirting with everyone. It sounds like they really know one another well and accept each other. I enjoyed this characterization of Jalon from the POV of someone-who-isn't-Dara. It makes him seem very hilarious as well as charming and astute.
(Not to freak you out, but I can't believe we're nearly halfway through Nov and therefore halfway through the story!! I will miss this story, it has been my favourite, I think because of the range of characters? And the cool CSI-meets-Demesneverse.)

Yeah. :) I wanted them to be a counterpoint to Dara and Rinabaar, who are in a serious will-they-or-won't-they phase. So I figured that Jalon and Aseena have been together for a long while and are really comfortable with each other - and also have no illusions about the sillier aspects of each other's personalities. ;)

I'm glad you like it. :D It's been a little tricky for me to write, but I must admit that it's got an interesting flavour to it. :)
Awesome. :) Kim is very likeable, seeing how she casually risks so much to protect and help Aseena without especting anything in return. Aseena and Kim are hilarious, and it's great how they have an easy going friendship.
Since just about everything up to this point had been from Dara's point of view, which is fairly antagonistic to the world in general, it was nice to write a scene between two friends. :)
