Brilliant! I like how Aseena had the good sense to hide her notes in the library. And it makes sense that she would be so clever and well organised given how she's living on the run. :)
It was sad and sweet when Dara talked about how it felt to have a friend. And I was touched when Aseena was understanding and said she wouldn't stop Jalon and Dara from being friends.
"Hey, second rule of lying," Aseena said, unflustered. "Tell people something they want to be true. And men always want hot girl-on-girl action to be true."
I think this is a turning point for Dara - admitting that she is lonely and that she doesn't want to be. :)
Random fact: I think Aseena is actually bisexual. I don't know if it will ever get brought up, but it kind of fits with her general refusal to place artificial limits on what she will do and feel and experience.
I hope that Dara will gain more friends and become more comfortable with people in the future. :)
It is interesting and makes sense how Aseena is bisexual. You actually portray her as a nuanced person without resorting to stereotypical cliches of bisexuals, which is great (there are story/film cliches of bisexuals being promiscuous, dangerous or mentally unstable etc).
Also, I've really liked the growth between Dara and Aseena. The Jalon/Dara - Aseena/Jalon dynamics are fantastic, and Dara/Aseena is turning out just as brilliant. I think this is my favourite chapter, actually. I liked how their tension from the previous chapter (where they fought about leaving Jalon behind) is resolved, and their honest emotional communication.
It is, in a way, but different people fulfill different functions and purposes in relationships.
Agreed. Everyone has something different to offer. :)
I liked Aseena's philosophy that friends are people who you meet by happenstance who slowly grow to be very important.
It is how things work, in my experience. :) And it felt very much like something Aseena, in particular, would understand really well. She's all about making the most of what happens to come along, after all. ;)

I burst out laughing when Aseena said this!
