Kipling
So everyone has probably noticed that my fan-identity bears some relation to Kipling - I picked my nick when I was about 16 or 17, and back then named myself after one of my cats, who is named, in turn, after Bagheera from the Jungle Books. My first contact with the Jungle Books was via the Disney Movie and the vaguely related spin-off about Baloo

It would be interesting to take some of my favorite books from childhood into academia. At the same time, I probably shouldn't and I don't think my favorite books are even in academia anyway. Though at the same time, it's easy to see why I liked Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey so much when I was younger, considering how frequently I was uprooted and isolated when I was younger. It's always interesting going back and looking through things when you're older.
