I finally got around to checking out Blake's 7 - I have been meaning to do so since aralias recommended it but somehow there were always other things to do/watch. So far I've seen the first two episodes and I'm *quite* impressed but also surprised - I expected (even though I was told otherwise) that it'd be like Doctor Who of that era, or like a Firefly

'aralias recommended it' is a nice way of putting it - makes me sound quite non-insane :D

and hooray! i thought you would like he way back.and space fall keeps reminding me it is one of my favourite episodes when i forget it. cygnus alpha (episode 3) is very dull... although it does have plenty of really great bits, and brian blessed.

also - bits of blake will stay dark and creepy and distopian, but it'll get more larky and adventurey as well/at the same time. as you go along.

as for avon - i think he's really great in space fall, but i also think i only fall for him about the time he starts being stupidly heroic and denying that its happening. so - you have a few more episodes to go, as he settles in to life with blake.

Ep 3 wasn't bad - in fact I really enjoyed all the scenes on the Liberator! It has a sentient computer and awesome high-tech stuff and a room full of jewellery. And Avon keeps insisting on being a bad guy in a way that slowly endears him to me... especially the bit where he pointed a gun at Blake and Jenna and they both just ignored him.

if you like sentient computers, you are in for many treats to come :D and yes, the liberator has a ridiculous tardis wardrobe full of the worst clothes ever \o/ and avon. oh avon. and then he's like - well, i didn't really expect you to take that seriously, sigh. <3
