Maps and dreams

Just a little vignette I wrote this afternoon instead of preparing a geography lesson...:)

Frodo/Sam, PG-13. Inspired by the following passage:

Frodo began to feel restless, and the old paths seemed too well-trodden. He looked at maps, and wondered what lay beyond their edges: maps made in the Shire showed mostly white spaces beyond its borders.

Oh, I love it. The forshadowing is melancholy but balanced with the warm, sensual reality of Sam.

Thank you!:) It's sad that Frodo will be deprived of Sam's warmth for more than sixty years, though.

Thank you for the nice feedback! I've always found Frodo's vivid dreams in LotR very interesting, and I thought he's likely to have them even when he's still safe in the Shire.
