OMG, that cake is a nightmare indeed - especially with its special Gollum filling. :O I'm so glad it turned out to be a nightmare. And yes, Sam is a treasure indeed, dealing with sleepy, hung-over hobbits and snorers so competently.

Of course it was a nightmare, but I must admit I was pretty happy with the image of Gollum coming out of the cake, to the point of giggling like a loon while writing that scene.:) I never liked the fics in which Frodo was tortured or suffered greatly, but once in a while I like to molest him a little. And Sam is always here to comfort him.

There is NOTHING better than giggling about your own ideas while writing a fic!!! I'm jealous!! :D

Yeah, generally he's been through so much during the Quest that he deserves to be treated wonderfully in fic but the occasional exception is okay! :D
