OH MY FUCKING GOD.
I am in love with this series. I just finished the first book and first thing tmr morning, I'm driving to B&N to get the second and third book. It's sexy and dark, and luscious. The first book didn't skimp on the gore nor the sexual tension that often coats young adults book.
Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
New fandom to adore? Perhaps

I just finished the series a few weeks ago, and I was absolutely, thoroughly enamored with it myself. And wait! There's a fourth book... and a movie to come! (But frankly, I'm not too keen on the idea of a movie...yet. Still relishing the characters in my head, which will undoubtedly not quite match up with the movie.)
Let me know when you're done so I can gush about it with someone new, lol.

OH MY GOSH. I finished City of Ashes last night. I'm currently on bedrest because of a nasty cold, and so I'm canoodling with City of Glass right now. I know its weird with what I've read so far, BUT! I want Clary and Jace to be together.
This series is like a mesh of the adventure that I get from Harry Potter and the romance of Twilight. It's such an enchanting tale. Guh. So good.
And there's a fourth book???? I thought it was a trilogy.
As for the movie thing... hmmm I dont know. I would love to see this on the big screen just because it has both the romance and adventure/action appeal. But like you said, I don't know if I'm ready to relinquish my idea of the character and match it up to an actor/actress face.
But it'd be funny if somehow Rpattz gets a part in the series. He should play someone bad. And it'd be awesome for him to be a part of the three mega-series. Hahahaha. A girl could dream. Mmmmmm Rpattz in leather shadowhunter outfit. Delish!

Anyhoo, check out news on the book and movie at Cassandra Clare's website or the pandemoniumclub at eljay.
But yeah, the "adventure" aspect of the books really kicked ass. I couldn't help wishing that the Twilight series (especially BD) could have more of this "edgier" element you know? Battle scenes, gore and death and struggle...made everything that much more exciting, but also, more poignant.
Oh yeah. RPattz with runes all over his skin. Sexay. (Especially since the characters are kinda faceless in my imagination, lol. Mostly just the tattooed bodies from the cover.)
