Unless you are a VISTA, I don't think anyone can truly understand what you are going through. That being said here is my two cents. 11 months later, I know a hella lot more than I did when I started. I can't imagine what I would know in the next fifteen if I had choosen to continue my service. I got my termination papers today. It feels like I'm graduating again. The countdown is on. Finishing those last reports, paperwork, and projects. Hoping to squeeze it all in before my last day. Looking back, I wonder if I helped anyone. Did i make a difference? Is their world a better place? Is my world a better place? I hope so. p.s. do you have loans/did you get them deferred/forebeared correctly?
i always like reading your LJ cause of the co-VISTAness. . . and yeah, i have to do my extension of service papers ASAP (like, tomorrow or thurday). it's kind of weird. i feel like i just got here and like i've been here for ages. and i like to think that, yes, we make a difference, we made (our section at least) the world a better place because we stepped in and we tried and we cared. and as for loans... i managed not to have any, so i know nothing about that. my co-VISTA here does have them and I know she is making payments... but that's all i got.
