So apparently my eyebrows are an inch below my hairline...

Uh-huh, got a haircut, like I'd planned. Unlike I had planned however, it is extremely short in the front, which was not what I told the hair stylist to do. I told her that I wanted it 2-3" past my eyebrows when dry, and we'd discussed how my hair was wavy so you have to compensate for that by adding about an inch and a half when it's wet. Yeah, ( Read more... )

Gaaah, I am so sorry!

I think you might be able to make it look a bit better while it's growing out by parting it a bit more to the side and blowdrying it so it looks more like a side bang, and maybe adding a hair clip...

I really hope she wasn't doing that to spite you, because that would be low and mean and twenty kinds of terrible.

I had tried to part it a bit farther over, but because of the tapered sides and how curly my hair is, it won't lay correctly like that, even with heat and hair spray, parts want to stick up. I might mess around with some of my mom's hair clips though, but I think it's a lost cause for now. ^^;

Thanks for the condolences, and I hope she just forgot what she was doing or forgot that my hair was curly.

I'd probably bet on it being a problem with curly hair.

My next door neighbor has beautiful curly hair and had the hardest time finding a stylist who listened to her when she said how much her hair shrinks when it's dry... a while ago she got it cut past her shoulders when it's wet and it was ear length when dry!

What she does now (and what I was doing in hair school for majorly curly-haired clients) is to get the basic shape cut while the hair is dry, and then go back and clean it up when it's wet because then you know the length is right. Might be worth a shot asking for that next time.

Oooh, that's a really good idea, I will do that, thanks for the info!

My hair isn't extremely curly, no tight ringlets or anything, but I have a ton of it. It's baby fine, but there's just so much of it. I think part of the issue is that she didn't realize how much the weight from the length was pulling it straight on the top, with that weight gone, it's going to shrink up even though it's mostly just wavy now.

Oh well, my bad, now I know. XD

in a little bit it'll probably grow into a really cute style too!
what a bitch though D:
maybe invest in one of those 14$ straighteners?

Well thanks. ^^ Yeah, I think if it'd been 2-3" longer like I wanted, it would have been really cute, but oh well!

I actually have a good ceramic straightener, and that pic is with it slightly straightened, if I totally flatten my hair now it lays very strangely until it curls back up of it's own accord. My hair has a mind of it's own. XD

That's a silver lining for me as well, at least I won't need the back and sides touched up for a couple months this way, the sides are super short over my ears so it won't stick out funny for at least 6 weeks. I'd prefer to have the bangs to my nose, that would have looked much better, but ah well, it'll be there in a few months. XD

It's really a preemptive measure with the d word, I'm going to hear it a lot. I guess to my mind, using it myself makes it less potent? I dunno, I used to hear that all the time before I met my ex from my co-workers. Having a boyfriend for 6 years made me pretty much immune for people wanting to use that particular insult, but now that I'm single again with the uber short hair and my gender neutral wardrobe? Yeah, I'd better get used to it. My brother said it about 10 times just last night. >I did straighten them a little bit after that pic, but since I've got so much hair, if it's completely straight it kind of sticks straight out. Too, it won't stay straight, even with the flat iron spray and a ( ... )

you look like a 12 year old. Hey you should be proud, not many people can pull that off. ^_^

Hey, I'm not being mean- we already talked about this earlier. I'm just making light of it. You will be fine. I know it sucks right now. That's kinda how I feel every time I get my hair done because I can't do anything with it for a week or more. I just come out looking like a wet dog.

Pffft, it's fine, I make jokes about it too. Besides, I cosplay as young boys so much, I'll take that as a compliment. XD

Ugh, you should have seen it when I woke up this morning, the right side of my head was a faux-hawk, not even joking. O_o

I think it's kinda cute! If you put a little spray gel in there and swished it around and scrunched it a little it would look more layered and interesting I think!
I'll bring my arsenal of styling products to Ohayo and we'll find something that works for you!

Until then...I reccommend hats. XD!

Haha, it's bad enough for hat-time huh? Sadly I look even sillier in hats than with the haircut, too my head gets too hot and itchy.

You're welcome to experiment on it at Ohayo, but I don't think much can really be done honestly, that part is trained, I could only part it elsewhere with it long because the weight from the length would hold it down. Now, even if I part it elsewhere when wet and use product, it flips back over. >
