It was just past 11 o'clock at night and Bailey was walking out of the library for the first time since late afternoon the previous day. Jackson had been walking so quickly through the falling snow that he hardly had time to notice where he was going. This cold weather was a shocking change to him, and he crossed his arms over his chest to better warm himself. He looked up just as he was about to bump into a girl with bright orange hair.

"Oh, I'm sorry," he said, stopping dead in his tracks.

Bailey's head snapped up just in time to let out a giggly yelp of surprise, but her physical coordination wasn't quite fast enough. She only came to a stop once she collided with and bounced off the boy's chest.

"Ooh, my bad," she laughed, readjusting her bag. Looking up she couldn't help but let out another giggle at the sight of the boy's face- his physical discomfort was written all over it. "Cold?" she asked, the word muffled a bit from behind the bulk of her scarf.

Jackson laughed a bit, though he was completely miserable.

"It ain't ever like this in Texas," he commented, zipping up his coat even futher.

"I should really invest in some warmer clothes," he added, chuckling a bit to himself.

"It'd probably be a worthy investment, yeah," Bailey nodded. "Or, y'know, just stay indoors when it's cold and snowing in the middle of the night."
