I remember the story indeed though Aragorn's mother's current ailment and Boramir's condition are a little foggy.

Connie, you manage to tear my heart open with the simplest words...

“Yes, of course. How could I have forgotten? You only care because I am Isildur’s Heir.”

I could hear Aragorn's pain resonating in those sentences even before you described Legolas discerning it. I love your warrior version of Arwen - I always felt when reading the book that she would do more than sew banners if not for her overprotective father. And I have a suspicion what form her cleansing ritual is taking (but if anyone has earned it in this tale, it's Boromir!)

Once again connected to the hive mind, AV Queen Namarie discerns what I had thought to keep hidden for at least another chapter. It's no use; she's like Galadriel with that Mirror. I'm so glad she's still reading though.

I console myself that with your exquisite story to savor, not many readers will be scanning my comments. No more spoilers, I promise.

Thank you for commenting on Arwen in this story. She's been portrayed in many guises in fanfic, and I'm sure my take on her isn't a new one, but it sure is fun. I'm really enjoying writing her as bossy big sister and proficient warrior, a full equal of her comrades. And I'm afraid you're dead right about power-loving Denethor.

Good one! I love a fierce Legolas - ooh, such a contrast to his ALMOST (almost being the operative term) too pretty face. The beauty has a sting, indeed! Loved it.
