Saw "Sherlock Holmes" last night. Did anyone else feel like they were watching a really long "House" in which Hugh Laurie had more hair and got to use his real accent, Robert Sean Leonard had less hair and got to do a very good British accent, and the network sent them to London and gave them a really huge budget for a trippy time-travel episode

Heh, well, it's not a coincidence. When House was originally pitched to the network, it was pitched as "Sherlock Holmes with medicine." House was purposefully written to be like Holmes, while Wilson was purposefully written to be Watson -- thus the matching initials.
