“US President George W Bush has vetoed a Congressional bill that would have linked war funding to a timetable for withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.
Speaking in Washington after signing the veto, Mr Bush said setting a deadline for withdrawal would be “setting a date for failure” in Iraq.”

There's a club on Ottawa, right on the corner of Cannon, that I feel is ridiculous for still existing. It's called CD bar club, in case you haven't heard of it or what's happened there, I'll explain a little further.

The Senate passed the Iraq withdrawl bill this Thursday. This bill includes military funding, but also specifies that withdrawl of troops will begin next April. The vote was 51-46, which is really awful because in order to overwrite a veto there would have had to have been 67. Democratic leaders and George Bush discussed the war-funding bill today. The results are as one may have predicted.
