I need some help. What programs or websites do you good folks use to make your animated icons? I need to make some for a website and I was hoping to do something more interesting than just a square of non moving pixels. Thanks kindly and muchly, and all that good stuffs.

If you want Fireworks, just go to macromedia.com and grab the trial version. It works for 30 days. Time to do plenty of damage. :)

It may be called something other than Fireworks now since they change the versions every year or so.

you got photoshop, you have imageready
it is vastly good at this sorta thing

Tutorials are wonderful. I don't have imageready (suck at photoshop workings) I'll have to go look into the first program.

I use a program called Animation Shop. It's bundled with Paintshop Pro. It's really easy to use. There are probably some freeware things you can get that will do the same thing.

Yep, ImageReady. If you have any knowledge of Photoshop, then its easier. I made ma movin' one with it. Prep the images in Photoshop, then jump right into ImageReady.

Imageready is the absolute best.

It comes free (as an install option) with any version of Photoshop made 5.5 and up.

Frames, layers, slices, delays, everything come very easy. I am sure it will take you minutes to get the hang of.
