I would really check out the Sims 3 forums for the expansion. A lot of the problems people are having are discussed with solutions shared there.

I pray you don't lose Fawn and Bear's family.

Good idea. If EA haven't become complete douchebags, they should still have a popup before uninstallation that says "Do you want to keep you saved games?" or similar, but backing them up is also a prime idea.

Nobody wants you to lose the Bajingos, trust me!
