[...what an odd dream this was.

When last Iskierka was asleep, she was most certainly still out to sea; she could still feel the Allegiance’s deck heaving in that slightly nauseating way if she thought about it. They were going to…Brazil, was it? Somewhere there would be fighting, anyway ( Read more... )

[ Ian is lounging in a tree, as he is wont to do, and catches sight of the creature. He's never seen an actual dragon before, but he's fairly certain they're usually bigger.

He climbs down from his perch and approaches the little dragon carefully, his own tail swinging easily ]

Looking for someone?

[...was that a man in that tree? No--he had a tail, and was all funny colors, and had dragon feet. Dragon feet with an awfully big claw separated from the others, but some dragons were different than others anyway.

Either way, this giant was't too much bigger than she was. And he must not learn a thing about Granby, if her captain had gotten himself lost again. Must not!]

I am certainly not.

[...she's bad at lying. But good at display! The dragon arched her neck all the way up, with her spines bristling out a bit and her frill flared to either side of her head, in a (not very) subtle attempt at looking larger. I am very fearsome, yes.

Counting her horns, Iskierka might be taller than this dragon-giant-man. Might.]

[ For his own part, Ian arches his eyebrows. Yes, it's a very impressive display, but he did watch her try and breathe fire- at least he assumed that's what she had been doing. It could be she just had a cough or something- but with no results. Still, he doesn't rule out the fact that she has claws and teeth at her disposal, so he answers carefully. ]

Everyone who arrives here often starts out looking for someone. Unfortunately, they're usually not here.

[...how did he know?! She had said just the opposite! Her body and spikes swell out a bit, like she was preparing to breathe fire she...didn't have at the moment. But it made her look marginally larger!

Silly dragon.]

...where is here?

[Iskierka would also like to know why there are so many giants. She couldn't have shrunk, no--out of the question. Nope.]

[She'd been in the middle of her morning jog when she spotted it and had to jog closer for better inspection. Another thing straight from the fiction.]

[She pauses when it glares at her.]

Got a problem?

[Is she expecting it to answer, no, but this is Mayfield after all. And just in case it gets violent, she's already got her hand on the hilt of her sword, ready to draw it if necessary.]

Yes, I do.

[If Iskierka straightens her neck, she's almost at eye level with this person!]

Why are you a giant?

[After her initial shock at the dragon speaking to her, she chuckles a bit.]

If you think I'm giant, you should see my brother. What kind of a world are you from?

Oh crap I AM SO SORRY Dx bajkaiskierki November 24 2011, 06:13:27 UTC
[Iskierka is briefly distressed by the thought of someone giant-er than giant, but is instead somewhat distracted.]

I'm a British dragon! Though I was in Australia last, and Granby stole my egg from the sultan's palace to begin with. But Granby is British, so I'm British too.

[NATIONALITY.]
