Annie died in her sleep this morning. Dad came home so we could bury her in the back yard next to our cats.
Rest in peace, baby girl.

Aw man, I'm so sorry. :( I hate it when pets die. At least it was peaceful. I watched my first cat get run over by a car in a very horrific manner...

*HUGS*

Good point. You saw your cat get run over? That's awful! *HUGS* I can't even imagine... The worst thing I ever had happen was to take our last dog in to the vet and watch her get put down.

Yea...my dad was taking me to choir practice at church (I was 14) and she'd been in our family since I was 5...she ran under his tires as he was backing out of the driveway (she was chasing a chipmunk) and just...didn't move fast enough. I looked up and saw blood everywhere, and the impact had broken her back and her hind legs were kicking terribly. It was so awful. *sniff* I couldn't even cry at the time because I was so in shock. I remember begging my parents to get her to a vet, but she died within two minutes.

I can't imagine having to put a pet down. My dad's had to. But wow. That had to be really, really hard.

Oh my god...that's so awful! I think I would be in shock for the rest of my life. Two years ago, on Halloween, I was with a whole group of people and we had just crossed a really busy street (it was nighttime). There was this black dog that was just barely visible and he was on the other side of the street. He went to come chase after us when we crossed the street, but there was a car coming at the same time, so there was nothing that we could do. The dog was about two feet in front of me and then bam. The car ran over him. It's one of those things that I wish I had never seen before...

I'm sorry... *hugs* But dying in your sleep is really the best way, I think. It's the least painful.

I'm one of those silly people who believes in reincarnation, so, I always believe that when a pet dies, they come back as something else. So maybe Annie will come back and be a bird that chirps ouside of your window. ^^

Just remember all the happy times you've had with her~
