My dad's parents died when I was young. I'd only been in the house a few times but I remembered a little doll in a rocking chair and a toy jingling ball. When I went back in with my dad I took those two things home with me. They give me the most vivid memories.

So she has left us
The water of our tears like the salt water of the sea
And like the waters of the Mother's womb
As life is a day
So she has passed into the night
The fire of her life
The memories and courage
The strength given to us by her
As the Earth forms us
So she shall return to the Earth
Our Mother, who nurtures us
She gives all
And in the end
We return to her embrace
As all that falls shall rise again
So she will be reborn
The sun that sets
Returns at dawn in a blaze of glory
