[A good ten minutes before sundown, the network is suddenly met with yet another festive video, with the signal coming from Kaito's gear this time]
HAPPY HALLOWEEN, JOHTO!
[The tousled-haired magician is smiling widely at the camera as he trains it on himself, Biz the Aipom perched once again on his shoulder. Kaito isn't dressed in his normal casual yet dirty travel wear, either. Oh no, for this holiday, he decided to go with something a little different.
By which I mean, Johto's jokey magician is currently dressed in an Aipom purple hoodie and pants, complete with a pair of Aipom ears seated on top of his head and a silly little stuffed Aipom... tail... thing pinned to the back of his sweater.
Biz and Kaito aren't the only two characters visible in this video, either. Behind them, a black-clad, bird-faced figure can be seen, SWOOPING about in a silly manner as she raises her cape .... poncho thing behind her. But even so, for now, Kaito keeps the camera trained on him. Crazy kids, right?]
Ooooi, Johto! [He sounds surprisingly cheerful despite the weirdo cavorting around behind him, and he gives the camera a wink as his grin widens] I'll give you three guesses as to what I am for Halloween, and it the first two don't count.
[Biz's ears suddenly flatten on the back of his head as he lets out a grumpy Aipom scoff, and Kaito glances over at his Pokemon mischievously] Don't gimme that look, buddy. You were asking for it.
Yo, Smiley! Watch! Hey! Hey, c'mon! Watch this!
[A good portion of you probably recognize Heather's voice by now, and the video swings around to train on her in all of her Murkrow glory. She'd found an odd, stylized mask and and is hunching her shoulders, holding the flowy poncho fabric over the tip of the mask's beak, in a traditional Dracula (... OR BATMAN) pose.
She skulks slowly closer to the camera, only to suddenly let out a 'booming' evil laugh and throw her arms out, making the poncho billow dramatically. The dramatic effect is only -slightly- diminished by the fact that it's... well, it's a PONCHO. As she does so, the REAL Murkrow on her shoulder lets out a squawk, flapping its stubby wings for balance.
Kaito snickers.]
Very nice.
[Even behind the mask, it's obvious Heather is grinning. She flings the fabric dramatically again in a fancy flourish to the camera, and then turns and bounds off again, arms in the air like a hooligan. TONIGHT IS A NIGHT TO RUN WILD YEEEAAAAAAAHHHH!!
Kaito snorts as he watches his friend goof around in the background, and the last few rays of sunlight begin to slip beyond the horizon]
Looks like we're actually getting a decent Halloween this year. Guess this makes up for last year's creepiness! [He lifts his free hand from his pocket and salutes] Hope to see most of you at the--
[... except then the sun sinks beyond the horizon completely, and Kaito's sentence is cut off as he suddenly stiffens. Behind him a short distance down the street, Heather ceases her leaps and prancing and tenses as well. A few silent moments pass. A strange, tranquil and yet highly un-Kaito-ish (and more... Aipom-ish?) expression washes across the magician's face as he glances over at Heather, who turns toward him in return.
... something blue catches in the corner of the video feed, a few feet behind where Heather and Kaito stand. Something that looks strangely like... a police officer? A POTENTIALLY FAMILIAR POLICE OFFICER? Why yes, in fact, that is poor abused Officer Jerry in the background, enjoying a cup of coffee as he begins his Halloween patrol. He pays no mind to the costumed teenagers on the sidewalk, because he's busy with a group of small children in baby-Pokemon costumes, seemingly lecturing them on trick-or-treating safety.
And after the strangely stiff and silent Kaito and Heather exchange glances, they both look riiiiight towards unsuspecting Officer Jerry.
And the video feed suddenly drops as Kaito lets go of his camera. Luckily, it lands on the ground at an appropriate angle. An angle that catches both Heather and Kaito crouching low against the ground while they sneak up on poor Jerry. And are those... really vague and barely audible Pokemon noises? Monkey chitters and low crowlike croaks...
O-oh my.
The video feed cuts shortly before the two stalkers reach their target, but the one last thing that can be heard before the sound follows is Officer Jerry's startled, surprised, and unsurprisingly high-pitched scream (and the delighted squeals of the kids because OH BOY, PRANKIN' A POLICE OFFICER!!) as two humans who think they are Pokemon for the evening steal his shiny things.
Like his badge.
And the handcuffs off of his belt.
And the visor of his hat.
And the bag of shiny foil-wrapped chocolates he was handing out.
...
This is going to be an interesting evening.]
